Businesses are built on relationships. Relationships are built on consistency.
True enough – but as a solo entrepreneur, consistency is hard. For me, I tend not to get things done because a) I’m not sure *what* to do or b) life just gets in the way or c) you are paralyzed with perfectionism and are afraid to do anything that isn’t successful.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve coached hundreds of entrepreneurs to develop successful businesses that work for them. The ones that succeed are willing to implement something almost everyday. Here are the main things that need to be done almost daily to grow your business:

Build Your Audience

First things first: let’s grow your tribe. Each day, make a habit of connecting with new people on LinkedIn or through personalized emails. Join online communities and networking events where your target market hangs out. The goal is to create meaningful connections that could lead to future business opportunities.

Know Factor: By expanding your network and engaging with potential clients, you make your presence known and start building familiarity. People need to know you exist before they can like or trust you!

Improve Your Offers

Spend part of your day tweaking and refining your service offerings. This could mean developing new products or enhancing existing ones based on market feedback and trends. Always aim to make your offers more appealing and valuable.

Trust Factor: Consistently improving your services shows that you’re dedicated to delivering top-notch value. It builds trust because clients see you as someone who evolves and adapts to meet their needs.

Targeted Outreach and Collaborations

Engage with your audience through thoughtful responses to comments and messages. Participate in relevant online groups and forums. Look for opportunities to collaborate with other solopreneurs or influencers to expand your reach.

Like Factor: Interaction and collaboration help people get to know the real you. Being genuine and helpful makes you more likable, and collaborations can amplify your likability by association.

Execute Sales

Promote your offers consistently across social media and other channels. Send out proposals and follow up with leads diligently. Your goal is to convert potential clients into paying customers with a streamlined and effective sales process.

Trust Factor: A clear and professional sales process instills confidence. When you follow through and close deals efficiently, clients trust that you can deliver on your promises.

Share Valuable Content

Create and share content that showcases your expertise and provides value to your audience. This can be blog posts, social media updates, infographics, or videos. Repurpose your content across different platforms to reach a wider audience.

Know and Like Factors: Sharing valuable content helps your audience know who you are and what you stand for. It also builds likability because you’re offering them something useful without asking for anything in return.

Sound Like a Lot?

It is. Here’s the good news. As a solopreneur, you have the right to design your marketing so it works with your lifestyle. The main rule is that “something is better than nothing”. In other words, on some days, you’ll be able get through the list. Those are “chomp” days… some days life is really crazy and focusing on business is a struggle. Just do a “nibble” – it can be 5 minutes of sending social media or just making a tweak to a sales page. Anything is good – but don’t lose your momentum.
Each day, take a nibble, bite or chomp at your marketing tasks and watch your business grow.
