I recently asked my community to list their biggest challenge in their business. Most people mentioned “lead generation” or “getting clients” or “building a community”. When I dug a little deeper into what people meant by that – the answer I got was “overwhelm” and/or feeling really busy with “marketing activities” but not seeing much return on their investment. When I dug *even* deeper, and ask exactly what people are doing and often, I learned that most people are doing a LOT of different activities inconsistently. The throwing spaghetti at the wall to see if it sticks method generally isn’t very effective because you aren’t really giving any one method time to “stick”.

What does work? small consistent daily prospecting… Where? LinkedIn.

Why Opt for Bite-Sized LinkedIn Activities?

LinkedIn loves consistent daily action. Here are the advantages of bite sized daily engagements with LinkedIn:

  1. Stay Top of Mind: A quick daily post keeps your profile active and in your prospect’s feed.
  2. Better Responses: Keeping your sessions short allows you to think a bit more about your responses vs getting into robotic cut and past mode.
  3. Make It a Habit: It’s simpler to commit to a daily routine of short sessions than sporadic longer ones
  4. Staying Out of LinkedIn Jail: LinkedIn has daily limits on messaging and connections. Taking a slow and steady approach gives you big results over time.

Bite Sized LinkedIn Tasks

Integrating bite-sized tasks into your daily routine can make your LinkedIn activity more manageable and productive. Here a menu of bite-sized tasks to choose from:

  1. Personalized Connection Requests: Scan through ‘People you may know’ or attendees of a recent webinar. Send personalized connection requests to at least three to five individuals, mentioning where you encountered them or why you’re interested in connecting.
  2. Prospecting on LinkedIn and Sales Navigator: Get clear on who your prospects are and search for them on LinkedIn free search and on Sales Navigator. You can safely connect with 20 prospects a day.
  3. Engage with Your Tribe: Go through your feed or visit the pages of key influencers in your industry. Leave thoughtful comments on recent posts, ask questions, or share posts with your network, adding ur insights.
  4. Content Creation: Draft a quick post or article related to your industry. Share a recent experience, a piece of advice, or an article you found useful. Keeping it brief but valuable ensures engagement from your connections.
  5. Endorsements and Recommendations: Take a few minutes to endorse your connections for skills you genuinely know they possess. Alternatively, write a recommendation for a colleague or connection with whom you’ve recently worked. This not only strengthens your relationship but also encourages reciprocation.
  6. Review Notifications: Check your notifications for any mentions, comments, or likes on your posts. Respond to comments to foster engagement and thank individuals who share your content.
  7. Reach out and send messages: Make a goal to respond to 5-10 messages a day.

Implementing Your Bite-Sized Strategy

To effectively incorporate these tasks into your LinkedIn strategy, follow these steps:

  1. Plan Ahead: At the beginning of the week, decide which tasks you’ll focus on each day. This helps maintain variety and ensures all important activities are covered.
  2. Set a Timer: Keep your tasks within the 15-minute window to stay focused and efficient. This helps prevent burnout and keeps your LinkedIn activity enjoyable.
  3. Track Your Activities: Maintain a simple log of your daily LinkedIn activities. This can help you measure what types of engagement lead to the best networking and business outcomes.
